Share performance 2009 – 2013

During the period from 2009 to mid-2010 the LLB share profited from the good results of the LLB Group. The share peaked at CHF 84.00 in May 2010 and consequently outperformed its European banking peer group. In 2011, however, bank shares came under particular pressure. The debt crisis of the euro countries, exchange rate turbulence and the general decline in confidence in financial institutions led to a fall in share prices in Europe. The LLB share was also not able to escape this trend. Following the publication of the unsatisfactory interim financial report, continuing negotiations about US taxation issues and, finally, the information about a larger value adjustment in the credit portfolio at the end of September 2011, the LLB share markedly declined further and lost in value compared to its peer group. The highly volatile European banking sector slightly recovered in 2012. As a result of the unsatisfactory annual financial report for 2011, the LLB share finished close to its year’s low. In 2013, however, it rallied sharply. Supported by the Focus1015 strategy as well as by operative improvements and progress in the clarification of US taxation dispute, the LLB share rose significantly.
